An interesting approach to the launch of George Calombaris’s new restaurant in Melbourne, Mama Baba, involved a touch of Joey Scandizzo’s creative flair. In the week leading up to the event, Joey was busy carefully hand crafting wings and headpieces from spaghetti, curl noodles and shell pasta, which were all to be showed off by models. On the evening of the launch, Joey was enclosed in a glass pasta dryingroom attaching his hand-sewn creations to the models’ hair. He says, “Being a long-time friend of George’s, I was honoured to be a part of his launch event and help create a unique and fun atmosphere for what was a truely awesome launch.”
