Bodyography Australia is proud to announce Queensland’s Vivianne Tran as the winner of the 2011, ‘So You Think You Can Make-up?’ Front Cover Fashion Award. Bodyography welcomes make-up artists from all backgrounds of the industry, so there were countless colourful and creative submissions that flooded the judging panels. The process of elimination was long and painful, eventually seeing the top ten Front Cover Fashion shoots and top three Superhero/Villain shoots make it through to the final rounds.

The panel of five judges consisting of directors and educators from Bodyography Australia and USA, the Editor at Spa Australasia Magazine and a Pro Lash Director, eventually narrowed the contestants down to two using their strict criterion.

Phaedra Hairdressing Collection Launch Andy Restuccia’s Beautiful Strange Collection represents simplicity and classic style. “I was inspired by timeless elegance and the minimalistic style of the 1920s, and in particular the style icon Louise Brooks.” He explains the collection reflects this era, but incorporates a modern twist and is a bit edgy. Restuccia first launched his collection at the Mondial Congress in Johannesburg, South Africa in October last year and then re-launched it among his colleagues at the salon’s home in Melbourne. A short film was also created to elaborate on the Beautiful Strange Collection, which shows Restuccia’s thoughts on hairdressing. “The film reflects my philosophy that hairdressing is a beautiful art form. I believe that hairdressing involves elements or architecture, design and sculpture and this is the direction we take in the sale every day.” Restuccia has recently been nominated for Fashion Director at the Victorian Intercoiffure Mondial Hairdressing Association, to which he says, “I look forward to pushing the boundaries of hairdressing within this role.”
